Burn Test
Real silk does not produce visible flames when exposed to fire. instead, you might notice a smell similar to burning hair once the fire is put out. Authentic silk will turn into black particles that can be crushed into powder with your fingers. On the other hand, polyester fabric will emit black smoke and form a solid black lump when burned.
Chemical Test
Pour the oxidant disinfectant chlorine-containing into a glass, and then soak real silk fabric into the disinfectant. Stir the disinfectant slowly. Several minutes later, real silk product will dissolve in the disinfectant. Polyester fabric will not change or dissolve.
